Purpose and goal

The project´s aim is to further develop the "Gårdslån" – a new form of long-term supplementary property financing for agricultural properties that combines loans with shared financial risk and return on land value. The goal is to create a scalable offer that strengthens the opportunities for generational change and investments in soil health. By developing the legal structure, business processes and digital tools, the model will be made ready for a broader market launch.

Expected effects and result

The project is expected to contribute to increased capital availability for agricultural ownership changes and investments in the long-term productive capacity of the land. With better financing conditions and lower vulnerability to interest rate changes, both profitability and competitiveness are strengthened. The goal is to contribute to that more young farmers can take over farms and a faster transition towards a more sustainable and resilient agriculture throughout the country.

Planned approach and implementation

The work is conducted in close dialogue with farmers, banks, lawyers and investors. The project includes legal analysis of the contract structure, development of a pricing model and sustainability incentives, as well as tests in pilot cases to validate functionality and customer benefit. The results are translated into clear manuals, digital support and a scalable process for the future wider launch of the "Gårdslån".
