Important results from the project

The aim and objective were to facilitate the lives of our the elderly relatives by offering an user-friendly digital booking platform of elder care services. The technology has now been developed, we have about 20 background-checked and trained seniors, and we have marketed the services in Stockholm, which was our pilot area. We believe that we have achieved the first step towards developing a platform and business model for individualized services for elders in their own homes in Sweden.

Expected long term effects

The result of the project was what we wanted and expected. We managed to get advanced technology in place and we managed to gather a number of retired peopled who want to work (Retired that help other retired). Interest in the market is currently low, as supplementary services for regular elderly care services is still in an early phase. However, we think this is a matter of time. Being able to help retired people to receive additional income in addition to their current pension and in also in a flexible way, by helping other retired people will have even greater importance for society.

Approach and implementation

The implementation went as planned and expected. The technology was developed in collaboration with a technical partner with in-depth knowledge of on-demand services. By dividing the project into phases you could ensure the result. We trained and recruited talented pensioners for the performance of the services, we marketed the services both through traditional advertising, social media and PR. But interest in the market is still low. We believe is due to a combination of the habit to book care services digitally, little knowledge of the company and the season we launched the service.
