Reference number
Coordinator Research Institutes of Sweden - SP Sveriges Tekniska Forskningsinstitut AB, Lund
Funding from Vinnova SEK 215 000
Project duration March 2017 - June 2018
Status Completed
Venture Personal mobility between societal sectors

Purpose and goal

The project involves the individual mobility from RISE to MAX IV. The exchange has led to developing a mutual understanding the goals, mission, strengths, weaknesses, and how things work in practice in respective organization. It has contributed to us being one step closer towards building a well-functioning infrastructure for the industrial users, a joint a strategy, and to effectively integrate the techniques in the toolbox of RISE. Through the exchange, the PI has gained a deeper understanding of the techniques at large, and specifically of SAXS, XAS and XPS.

Expected results and effects

In addition to the fact that the project has contributed positively to the collaboration between organizations in their common strive to meet the need of the Swedish industry, we have identified several critical needs that needs to be met. One is a well-functioning infrastructure and service functions. Another is more entrances and interfaces between the industry and the facilities, where RISE can contribute through the natural interface towards industry. RISE should also build internal skills in order to effectively integrate the techniques in our ongoing research projects.

Planned approach and implementation

The project was carried out from March 2017 to June 2018. In 2017, the project manager regularly spent time on MAXIV, and in 2018, two courses were carried out as well as measurements at MAXIV, whereof two were pilot studies and one sharp measurement. Throughout the period, the project manager and the ILO at MAXIV regularly had discussions about everything from organizational structure to defining areas of high relevance for industry, and how to create a well-functioning infrastructure facilitating industrial use.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
