Purpose and goal

The research activities will focus on investigating and qualifying innovative functionalities which power electronics systems can provide to the electricity distribution grids. This would be achieved through the exploitation of the forthcoming digitalization of electrical infrastructures. More accurate measurement systems combined with networking systems can allow new services. A qualification of such functionalities and related technological solutions will be based on criteria such as estimated reliability, complexity, cost, performances etc.

Expected results and effects

The research activity will provide technological evaluations of possible applications and investigations on application scenario that can point out the benefits and risks for their industrial implementation and TRL development. The outcome of such research will be delivered though publications on peer-reviewed international journals and conference proceedings

Planned approach and implementation

The research and dissemination activities that will be run in close collaboration within the partners include the identification and preliminary design of technological solutions for employing in the operation of power converters embedded measurement systems and networking technologies. The focus will be addresses to their evaluation for possible industrial employment.
