Important results from the project

The project aimed to apply sensor technologies to water supply and validate the possibility of testing water quality in real time. To meet this objective, different types of sensors have been tested and compared with laboratory analyzes. The sensors consisted of both existing and new methods.

Expected long term effects

The project has given good results. Different types of sensors have shown different levels of precision. Some have had to be dismissed while others have been more promising. We believe that there are good opportunities to continue the development with the more successful sensors. The integration to a digital platform has not been completed yet as the focus on this first project has been to validate the sensors. Additional resources are needed to before starting to approach a complete product.

Approach and implementation

In its entirety, the project plan has been executed. We needed to rearrange the order of certain steps to get reach our objectives in an efficient manner, but there was nothing that significantly affected the project plan. The digital platform that was intended to test the integration with was delayed in the company´s other activities and the integration, therefore, in this project had to wait. However, it did not affect the project´s purpose remarkably as the most important thing was to validate the sensors´ capacity compared to traditional analysis.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
