Communicactive - Preventive and health-promoting efforts in municipal care with the help of IoT

Important results from the project

For 2.5 years, The development project Kommunikativ has had the objective to prevent ill health and promote health among the elderly in Tyresö. The project developed a digital service and a new role, digital care worker. The service is based on a mobile application, "Tyresö för mig", which enables daily contact, motivational work and health-promoting support. The service has increased well-being, security and independence for seniors in the municipality while reducing digital exclusion.

Expected long term effects

A long-term effect of the Kommunikativ project is to postpone the need for care and welfare among the municipality´s citizens through digital, preventive and health-promoting interventions. Through regular contact, motivational work and early interventions that promote physical activity and social community, the elderly can maintain their independence for longer. This leads to increased quality of life and potential socio-economic savings through reduced interventions and deferred care needs.

Approach and implementation

Projektet Kommunikativ was successfully implemented with a focus on developing and implementing new digital solutions in elderly care. A fundamental activity was the thorough needs analysis, which laid the foundation for the subsequent test phases and evaluations. During the course of the project, the new role, digital care worker, was recruited, which was crucial for the project. The security in the person and the role meant that the seniors dared to test a completely new digital solution.
