Important results from the project

A prototype of cold plasma treatment system for various applications in food and agriculture including decontamination of fruits, vegetables, and enhanced seed germination and plant growth has been built and is ready for the evaluation projects with potential customers and researchers. In addition, a valuable business and R&D network has been established to evaluate the technology further and move forward the company´s vision to commercialize the cold plasma technology for safe and sustainable food supply.

Expected long term effects

A prototype of cold plasma treatment system is now available for further exploitation of the potential of cold plasma with researchers in food and agriculture sectors and several evaluation projects with potential customers and researchers in the network established during the execution of the project are planned and started. Important and interesting insight into the market has been obtained and several application areas have been identified on which the company will have focus in the next step of development.

Approach and implementation

The tasks planned in the project are proved to be essential and timely to achieve the first milestone in the company´s business development. The prototype development could reinforce the partnership with the partners and suppliers and set up the basic protocol for the technology development process. The availability of the prototype enables the company to approach more potential customers and will be a basis for further development and refinement. Through the network building, the awareness of technology was also increased.
