Purpose and goal

The project "The potential for reuse in Swedish offices" have been investigating the effect of reusing building materials and furniture instead of buying new ones when renovating offices or building new ones. Eight common furniture and construction products have been included in the study: office chairs, visitor chairs, height adjustable desks, planting vessels, glass sections, interior doors, ceiling tiles and textile floorboards.

Expected results and effects

he result shows that in Sweden it is possible to save SEK 1.3 billion each year, reduce waste by 25 000 tonnes and reduce CO2 emissions by 43 000 tonnes by recycling these products.

Planned approach and implementation

The project has been carried out in close cooperation with: Moelven Modus, Anna Holst from Temagruppen Sweden, LINK Architecture, Ecophon Saint-Gobain, Nordic Green Design, Ogeborg, Albin in Hyssna, Interface, from Companjonen, Vican, Vasakronan, Akademiska Hus. All partners have contributed with information that is based on the calculations made.
