Important results from the project
The project´s objective has been largely achieved and the results are considered positive. The work has contributed to further developing and validating the solution, increasing understanding of customer needs and preparing for continued commercialization. The project has also provided valuable experience regarding technical eligibility requirements, market conditions and the need for continued development and external verification.
Expected long term effects
In the longer term, the results could help develop BatScan from an assessment of current battery health to a broader platform for battery risk, lifespan and residual value. It could create new features for remaining useful life and broaden the customer base to include insurance companies, leasing companies and vehicle finance companies. The results could also contribute to a more transparent market for used electric vehicles and better decisions about use, repair, reuse and recycling.
Approach and implementation
The project was implemented in three parts: technical development, testing and validation, and preparations for commercialization. The work largely followed the planned structure and the activities were deemed to have been relevant. Customer feedback and practical testing were used continuously to adjust the solution. Some technical and regulatory issues required more work than expected, but the project was completed within the overall timeframe.
