|Venture||The strategic innovation programme for graphene|
Purpose and goal
This project aims to facilitate graphene production at industrial scale. The goal is that a value chain from graphene production to a demonstrator is tested and evaluated at pilot scale. The expectations are that the results swiftly can be scaled up and also transferred to other commercial products. Mile stones are: - A graphene production pilot plant with a capacity of 10 ton graphene/year. - Graphene coatings on paper in pilot scale. - Characterization of graphene coated paper in heat storage units.
Expected results and effects
This project will verify that graphene can be produced environmentally sound and at a, for industry, acceptable cost. The relationship between price and quality will be better established and an understanding of logistics will also be obtained. A successful project will make it swifter to establish new industrial value chains for graphene applications.
Planned approach and implementation
An exfoliator, producing graphene from graphite, will be designed and constructed. The exfoliator will be put into a new graphene production process. Graphene will be produced and coated on paper, and the paper will be evaluated in a heat storage unit.
