Now Impact Innovation is changing Sweden. Together, there are 174 efforts that are being started to start working for sustainable transition and increased competitiveness throughout the country. And this is just the beginning. The efforts are made in cooperation between actors in all sectors and industries in the private and public sector, and in civil society.

It is about initiatives that strengthen a sustainable Swedish mining industry, the industry's transition towards net zero, sustainable water use, the cities of the future and mobility solutions.

- This gives me energy and hope. There is power to change in Sweden and we are a country that shows the way for the green change, while at the same time strengthening competitiveness, says Darja Isaksson, director general at Vinnova.

The program's efforts

  • I Net Zero Industry is starting efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption by 75 percent by 2035, and to develop efficient, sustainable and long-term profitable value chains.
  • ShiftSweden initiates conversations in places throughout Sweden to challenge the notions of how we want to live, live and transport ourselves in the future. Towards fossil-free, accessible and attractive societies.
  • Swedish Metals and Minerals and the mining and metals industry are working to extract more, recycle more and develop smart, low-footprint materials to build a sustainably competitive metals and minerals supply.
  • Water Wise Societies is taking the first steps towards sustainable water management for companies, people and the environment in 2050. Many people need to be helped and broad groups of actors are now starting long-term work for change in specific areas.
  • In December, SustainGov also launches initiatives for a reformed public sector geared towards efficient changeover.

Impact Innovation is a pioneering innovation collaboration where the actors find the best solutions to tackle our major societal challenges. Together, they will have an impact on the whole of Sweden, and make an impression internationally.
