We help you reach out to the EU

At our office in Brussels, we help Swedish researchers and companies to get access to a European network and get EU funding. We have a large network and are familiar with research programs and funding opportunities. We're happy to help you find what you need in Brussels.

Our activities in Brussels

Vinnova and the Swedish Research Council have a joint office in Brussels. Today, we make the biggest difference through personal contacts, so it's important that we're in a place like Brussels to build and establish contacts. We can help you get contacts to various research actors who are active in Brussels and contacts at EU institutions.

Get in touch with us or come by for a cup of coffee and a chat. As far as space is concerned, you can also sit down and work - WiFi is available on the premises. Please contact Sanna Sjöblom in advance.

We strengthen Swedish innovation

We want to strengthen Swedish research and innovation by taking advantage of the country's interests within the European research and innovation programs. We do this by following and analysing developments in European research and innovation. We also participate in and organise conferences, seminars and meetings in the area.

The office is a member of IGLO, a network consisting of 23 European countries' research and innovation offices in Brussels. At IGLO's website you can search for partners for research projects.

You'll find us in Trône

We're located in the Nordic House on Rue du Luxembourg 3, right next to the Trône metro station. Our premises are close to the European Commission's Directorate-General for Research and Innovation, the Swedish EU Represenation and the European Parliament.

From the airport, there are a couple of different options for getting to the office.

By train

On weekdays, direct trains run from Brussels Airport to Bruxelles Luxembourg Station, which is a five-minute walking distance to the office. You can buy tickets in vending machines at the airport or online.

You can also take trains to Gare Centrale and from there either walk 15 minutes to the office (see map) or take bus no. 38 to the bus stop Trône / Troon.

Find information on tickets and departures (Belgian Rails website)

By bus

No. 12 (no 21 weekends and evenings) goes directly from the airport to Place Luxembourg (5 min walking distance).

By taxi

From the airport to the Brussels office, taxi costs around €40. Check before you get in the car that the taxi driver accepts card payment, as this is not standard.
