The eleventh call for proposals from the European partnership The Innovative Health Initiative, IHI, opens in June. It uses expertise in a range of scientific areas – from pharmaceuticals and biotechnology to medical technology and Big Data. A two-stage call for projects that contribute to new innovative health solutions within one of five specified themes: 1. Understanding how infections foster and induce non-communicable diseases, 2. Towards precision medicine: platform for transdiagnostic stratification of brain dysfunction, 3.AI-Powered signal detection in pharmacovigilance, 4. Leveraging Europe´s expertise to accelerate cell therapy for type 1 diabetes, 5. Establishing ortho and cardiology ambulatory surgical centres in Europe .

Important dates
Opening, closing and decision dates are preliminary and not yet formally decided by the IHI office in Brussels. The call for proposals takes place in two stages. First, your international consortium applies with a project description via the EU application portal. The winning proposal and its consortium then write a full proposal together with the industry consortium in spring 2026.
