Cooperation with India - company-driven research and innovation projects 2021

This offer is aimed at companies in Sweden wishing to collaborate with companies in India in joint research and innovation projects. The call is part of the Sweden-India Innovation Partnership to strengthen our science and innovation collaboration in order to jointly create and strengthen competitiveness and address global challenges such as climate change and sustainable development through innovation. It is a joint call between Vinnova and the Department of Science Technology, Government of India. Parallel application processes are thus carried out in Sweden and India. Vinnova is responsible for the application process in Sweden.

The offer in brief

What can you apply for?

Corporate-driven collaborations within the areas of Smart and Sustainable Cities and Transport Systems as well as Clean Technologies, Digitalisation and Internet of Things (IoT). Vinnova will fund research and development activities defined as industrial research and experimental development. Projects may be up to two years long.

Who can apply?

The call is aimed at companies in Sweden who want to cooperate with companies in India. We encourage participation from actors in Sweden such as a university, college, institute or other relevant actors for example an existing test bed.

How much can you apply for?

You can apply for up to SEK 2.5 million. Companies seeking funds are expected to co-finance their eligible costs by at least 50 percent. Non-economic research performing organisations may receive up to 100 percent funding of eligible costs, while public sector and other non-economic organisations may receive up to 80 percent of eligible costs. Vinnova´s budget is SEK 12 million.

    To apply for funding, you need to log in and complete an application form in our eServices portal. The application form contains questions about your project, the participants taking part in the project and your budget.

    Please allow enough time

    Please keep in mind that it takes time to complete an application. Filling in the templates can take several days, since they're based on analyses you need to do. Therefore, start the application well in advance. You can start filling in your details, then save and continue at a later time.

    When you've completed your application, please mark it as done ("klar"). You can unlock and make changes to your application at any time until the call closes. If you unlock your application, you must mark it as done ("klarmarkera") if you want the application registered when the call closes. 

    This happens when the call is closed

    Once your proposal registered, we will email a confirmation to the person in charge of the user account and to the project manager and the signatory. This may take a few hours after the call is closed.

    When the call is closed, you can not change or fill in any new information. Then you can only complete your proposal if we ask for it.

    If you have not received a confirmation via e-mail within 24 hours after the call has closed, please contact us.

    Who can read your proposal?

    Applications submitted to us become public documents. However, we do not disclose information about the business, inventions or research results if it can be assumed that someone is suffering financial damage if the information is shown.

    This means that we must release the documents if someone requests them. However, we keep confidential the information that we believe could cause financial damage if it is disclosed.
