The call for proposals in brief
The call for proposals calls for innovative and cross-sectoral project that, through collaboration, citizen participation and new governance and financing models, demonstrate how adaptive reuse can contribute to resilient, climate-neutral and neighborhood-based cities. By reusing and developing existing buildings, infrastructure and urban spaces instead of building new, resources can be saved, emissions reduced and underutilized places given new life.
The focus is on integrated planning across administrative and sector boundaries, increased reuse of materials and surfaces, and the development of solutions that support sustainable modes of transport and reduce dependence on individual modes of transport. The call for proposals also calls for methods to test temporary and experimental mobility solutions and how underutilized spaces, such as parking spaces, rooftops and other semi-public environments, can be transformed into green, healthy and socially inclusive places that strengthen proximity, accessibility and local quality of life.
The aim of the call for proposals is to provide support to international research and innovation projects in the work on the transition of cities to more sustainable economies and societies. This is the fifth the call for proposals within DUT and it is co-funded by the European Commission under the Horisont Europa Framework Programme.
Who are we targeting?
A consortium of at least three applicant organisations from at least three participating countries. The consortium should include one urban public public authority or organisation, and at least one organisation from the private sector.
Actors can be researchers, cities, municipalities, businesses, civil society, actors from the cultural and creative industries and other stakeholders who can contribute to urban transformation
What do we finance?
It is possible to apply for a project duration of up to 36 months. The Swedish parties can apply for a maximum of 300,000 euros per project. Please note national restrictions and the respective funding organizations' regulations for what can be applied for.
