Important results from the project

The purpose was to lay the foundation for a Swedish innovation platform for XR. All project goals have been reached, all activities have been implemented according to plan and within budget. The results are a description of the XR area, an analysis of the needs of the Swedish ecosystem, and an analysis of global trends and scenarios. We have together crystallized whether an innovation platform can strengthen Sweden, what the platform needs to include and how it can be organized and run.

Expected long term effects

The project has resulted in a deeper understanding and description of Sweden´s opportunities and challenges in the XR area, and whether and how an innovation platform can support this. Another result is increased dialogue between a broad group of actors in the ecosystem, anchoring and trust within the ecosystem. The long-term effect is a joint and anchored application around a long-term innovation platform.

Approach and implementation

Study is based on research on innovation systems, industrial development, policy and clusters. With deep domain knowledge, needs analysis and global foresight, we have created actionable recommendations. Deleted parties: KTH, researchers moved to LiU, did not have time to work up time or agreements. Volvo, only project approval, organizational changes delayed signing. Police – did not have time to prioritize review/signing. Tekniska museet contributed instead via NVAB (the Wisdome group).
