Purpose and goal

Projekt XR Sweden has had a kick-off meeting and initiated resource allocation, tool selection and planning activities. We have also had dialogue with Vinnova and QSIP. The goal is to strengthen Swedish XR expertise and create collaboration platforms. Next step: complete project plan and start pilot activities.

Expected effects and result

Expected results and impacts from XR Sweden include increased collaboration in the ecosystem, better resource utilization and shared infrastructure. The project will strengthen the conditions for funding (focus on national and EU funds), attract new actors and increase innovation power through meeting places, skills sharing and a national XR roadmap. Strengthened international visibility, reduced duplication, new business models and benefit in sectors such as healthcare and education.

Planned approach and implementation

Planned structure: XR Sweden is run in 6 work packages of 12 months. Coordinator is Visual Sweden at LiU. Central nodes: Wisdome/Visualiseringscenter C, Visual Arena and EpiCenter. The APs focus on governance & communication, national XR roadmap, shared infrastructure & competence, innovation projects & funding support, meeting venues & competence dissemination and outreach activities. Regular steering group meetings, Impact Board and open reporting ensure coordination and long-term impact.
