Important results from the project
The project has enhanced our understanding of defense innovation and our role as a research and innovation actor. As a university-based center, we can contribute to long-term and in-depth development and research in collaboration with startups. One insight is the need to further develop structures and processes to foster innovation and enable the effective adoption of new technologies within the defense sector.

The project is expected to strengthen the ability to connect research, innovation, and startups within the defense sector. This could lead to improved structures and processes to promote technological development and facilitate the implementation of new technologies.
Approach and implementation
The project was based on interviews and discussions with researchers, representatives from Sweden´s innovation ecosystem, incubators, as well as dialogues with the Swedish Armed Forces (FM) and the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV). The activities were well-chosen and relevant, and the collaboration worked as planned. The project largely adhered to the timeline and resulted in valuable insights that contributed to achieving its goals.
