Important results from the project

The project has achieved its main objective by developing the Kompetensatlas concept. The concept describes an opportunity for the government mission to, through support for employers´ work with skills descriptions, contribute to the development of common concepts or translation keys. The project, however, has not reached all the way with obtaining funding and organization for continued development of the concept after the end of project. Parts that remain include a legal evaluation and a risk analysis of the three-part implementation phase outlined by the project group.

Expected long term effects

Interest in the concept has been mixed. In all target groups, there are stakeholders along the entire scale: from not interested to very interested in the tool becoming a reality. Initial expectations of growing interest in taking the development further have not been fulfilled. The project assesses that the reason is something of a chicken or egg problem. The more users, the greater the value, and effects can be delayed because end users are a number of steps away from the concepts collecting, processing and distributing information.

Approach and implementation

During the spring, the working group was divided into two after the initial workshop, in order to get focused feedback alternately from those who are expected to input and those who are interested in retrieving information from the tool. It brought some benefits, but in hindsight it was not entirely successful. Event in early autumn captured discussion and interest from a wider group of actors. After that, the focus has been on compiling and conveying the concept´s prerequisites. The complexity of the concept has been a major pedagogical challenge.
