Purpose and goal

The purpose of the agenda for visual effects, to identify and address challenges for companies where the technology visual effects are an essential part of the offer have been met. Primarily, the aim has been to make the post-production industry for film in Sweden gather around a common view of the challenges, vision and a roadmap for the joint development efforts needed to enhance their international competitiveness. Secondly, the aim has been to identify other industries where the technology visual effects is a critical resource, but not the core of the companies offer.

Results and expected effects

The goal of the agenda is that the process and the report will serve as a catalyst for the companies, employees, organizations and government agencies that want to build a stronger VFX industry in Sweden. On some issues, there are quick fixes. Other challenges require long-term, substantial resources and complex interaction. Collaboration is not obvious as it´s about independent organizations with different objectives and conditions to participate, contribute and benefit from joint development.

Approach and implementation

The agenda is based on interviews with individual companies and two industry conferences where various large influential companies and organizations with a common point of contact within the Swedish post-participation. Given that the agenda aims to have a national function, interviews have mainly been spread in the three largest towns; Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö. Agenda The analysis has mainly been carried out in Sweden but to anchor the national perspective internationally also collecting information and discussions with partners abroad.
