Important results from the project
The project has tested and legally validated a service that transcribes and compiles conversations within social services and the labor market. The pilot showed reduced administration and higher quality. DPIA, IMY consultation and AI Act classification ensure safe use in authority work. Results were disseminated nationally via seminars and media, enabling other municipalities to adopt responsible, scalable AI.
Expected long term effects
In the long term, the project is expected to contribute to solving welfare challenges by reducing the administrative burden and thereby increasing the attractiveness of the social worker profession. The structured and timely documentation increases legal certainty for the resident, and the developed legal model can be scaled and spread to other municipalities for similar AI applications in sensitive areas.
Approach and implementation
The project was implemented in three main streams (Finalization, Scaling and Dissemination) through a collaborative approach. A pilot phase was implemented, closely followed by a comprehensive DPIA and prior consultation with IMY. Success factors included an employee-driven approach and intensive collaboration with legal expertise to navigate complex regulatory frameworks (GDPR, OSL, AI Act). Implementation is planned to be phased in to ensure mandatory training and new procedures are adhered to
