Important results from the project

We have managed 81 funded unique projects which is in line with the goal of 60-70/year. VFT has been a very valuable component in the innovation ecosystem at KTH and the program is advancing projects in our development process. Effect and result follow-ups indicate good effects of VFT funding. Of the projects we have managed within VFT, many have progressed to incorporation (>50%), incubation (ca 20%) and 25% have received private funding of >3 billion, which provides strong leverage for VFT.

Expected long term effects

Better prepared project in terms of commercially and technically validated technologies More and better prepared spin-offs based on technology (incl. deeptech) More complete teams especially with commercially experienced people More project with well-developed and implemented IP strategies Collaborations and pilot tests with users and partners (incl. industry) - better and more industry-relevant research. More interest and competence on entrepreneurship and innovation in the university.

Approach and implementation

The project includes identification and selection of project to finance, planning and implementation support of validation efforts financed with VFT. Then follow-up of outcomes and possible funding of continued activities. Administration and financial management are also included. The schedule has been largely followed, although extensions have had to be made to be able to handle audits, etc. The planned structure for the project has been largely followed and worked well.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
