Project duration November 2025 - November 2027
Status Ongoing

Purpose and goal

The objective of the project is to support the Innovation Office in its efforts to commercialize and generate societal value from knowledge-intensive ideas, with VFT serving as a key instrument in this process. VFT facilitates the progression of research outcomes through structured verification activities. The overarching goal is to ensure that a greater number of knowledge-intensive ideas are successfully commercialized and contribute positively to society.

Expected effects and result

The project aims to increase the societal impact of research through commercialization. Expected outcomes include a rise in the number of projects that are incorporated into companies or otherwise utilized for societal benefit. The project also enables early-stage verification of ideas, which contributes to a more resource-efficient innovation process. As a result, the ideas that emerge are better prepared for further development and implementation.

Planned approach and implementation

The implementation is based on the Identigy/Learn – Develop – Build process model, which means that the idea´s research status, objective and IPR are initially defined. The next step focuses on early verification of market, technology and IPR strategy through business development and with the help of VFT. Quality is ensured by bringing in external resources and expert competence. The implementation of VFT assignments and the development of ideas are followed up systematically.
