Important results from the project

The project has yielded planned results. The goal of the project was to be able to verify knowledge assets more quickly with the help of various consulting efforts and in this way develop them closer to market introduction. The project has enabled verifications of IP and resulted in two patent applications, and two trademarks have also been registered. The VFT project has also enabled market verification of several projects. Several of the projects are now incorporated.

Expected long term effects

In the long term, the VFT project is expected to lay the foundation for research-based innovations to reach the market and generate societal benefit. VFT is an important tool for the innovation office by enabling early development of research results towards commercialization. VFT creates the conditions for the projects to develop into successful companies or contribute value through collaborations with other companies or the public sector.

Approach and implementation

The project is structured so that applications for VFT funds are handled and decided on an ongoing basis by the innovation office. After a decision is made, a consultant is procured to carry out the assignment, which is then followed up together with the idea owner. Several assignments took longer than planned, but the results were valuable and of high quality. Overall, the project has run as planned.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
