Coordinator Linköpings universitet Holding AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 16 810 000
Project duration December 2017 - August 2022
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The innovation system surrounding Linköping University (including researchers, students, innovation offices, the holding group, incubator) has during the period 2020-2022 (H1) developed 105 ideas with the support of VFT financed activities in the direction of application and commercialization. The number of ideas/projects is in line with expectations and previous year’s portfolios.

Expected results and effects

The verification activities reduce risk and create conditions making additional resource attraction possible for further development of the ideas. 42 of the ideas were incubated, 21 new companies were founded and 18 of the ideas applied for IPR-protection. 26 established collaborations with market players and 15 have revenues. VFT has also been used for the attraction of students having practical business development experience in the projects, thereby expanding the entrepreneurial talent base.

Planned approach and implementation

The project has been driven by a collaboration between the innovation office LiU Innovation and LiU Holding including the group companies LEAD (business incubator) and Unitalent (student consultants) as well as procured service providers primarily within IPR. The VFT financed activities have been coordinated by a business coach at LEAD which have resulted in a tighter integration to the incubation processes.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
