Västervik Drone Science Park - Dual-use ecosystem

Important results from the project

The goals of the project were achieved and our proposal for the design of a new long-term national dual use innovation ecosystem as well as our role in it has been reported. Briefly, the proposal is that a new national neutral department is formed "Swedish Defence Innovation Center" (SDIC), with 6 hubs that geographically follow the 6 civil defense areas. The purpose is to support the civil innovation ecosystem and connected with the armed forces and its needs.

Expected long term effects

That a national agile dual use innovation ecosystem comes into place and that Västervik Drone Science Park is given the opportunity to contribute to it with our expertise.

Approach and implementation

Briefly, mainly through personal meetings with relevant organizations representing triple-helix as well as exchange of experience with our international contacts and business intelligence. As the composition of the project group was composed based on the competence and experience that was required, many good thoughts and ideas were also found within the project group. The most difficult thing about the schedule was that many respondents were very booked up and it was difficult to find time.
