Purpose and goal

Coompanions assignment with handing out “Innovation-checks” is mostly done to support solutions for community-challenges that we see on the horizon. Some examples; these challenges might be demographic, economic, workforce-related & environment. The cooperative sector has always played an important role in these areas and our goal “20 Solutions” for “Sustainable growth”, socially, environmentally and economically have more than dubbled. Social- and economical sustainability dominates, but we also have around 20 innovations within environmental sustainability.

Expected effects and result

Coompanion, through our regional presence and coaching, have contributed in giving 55 out of 96 applicants a chance to develop their innovations. 42 of these are now processing new services, products, processes etc. to become commercial “products”. 20% of the “Innovation-checks” have been used for IP-strategies where most companies have been very satisfied. We strongly recommend further actions with IP-checks since these have proven to give a great added value for the participants. Since the ration of men and women have been almost 50/50 we see this project as very equal in that aspect.

Planned approach and implementation

The target-group is cooperative companies or companies/organizations working together. They have had the opportunity to apply for the checks online until the 3rd of March 2018. Regional coaches have been available to support throughout the application-process and a national project-team have been responsible for reviewing the applications. The project-leader have spent a lot of time taking care of all the administration and the contacts with Vinnova. Information and marketing have been spread within networks and web.
