Purpose and goal

UIC offers business development support, knowledge and networks to innovative projects and growth companies that want to develop, scale up and reach an international market. The aim is to reduce time to market and risks in the early, crucial stages. Sustainability and equality shall be an integral part of UIC´s incubator process. The goal is to identify innovative startups that develop into competitive companies with high growth potential attractive to both investors and customers.

Expected effects and result

To annually: Evaluate >250 business ideas, of which >30 are accepted into an incubator program after a selection process. >40% of accepted teams are mixed genders. >10 companies are accepted into UIC´s final program stage, UIC Accelerator. >90% are still active and have increasing growth after exiting UIC Accelerator.

Planned approach and implementation

UIC will attract the innovation projects/companies in Uppsala with high potential through effective communication, collaboration with local support systems/universities and innovation events. Deliver business development support to >30 projects in pre-incubation, >20 companies in UIC Build, >10 companies in UIC Accelerator. Support the companies with verification activities in e.g. IP and market analysis. In addition, support companies in e.g. capital raising, scaling up, teams and Deeptech.
