Important results from the project
The project analyzed a dual-use-oriented innovation system based on national and regional structures, identifying areas for improvement. The structures are largely functional but require better synchronization with authorities and clearer routines for specific issues.
Expected long term effects
The project is expected to strengthen Sweden´s dual-use innovation system through improved collaboration between authorities, businesses, and academia. Long-term outcomes include enhanced capacity to develop and commercialize technologies for both civilian and military applications. Effects include strengthened national security, competitiveness, and resilience in critical sectors, as well as more efficient use of resources within the innovation ecosystem.
Approach and implementation
The project was carried out in dialogue with the Swedish Armed Forces, FMV, the Security and Defense Industry Association, 13 incubators from across Sweden, including the LEAD (NATO DIANA node), and through interviews with local stakeholders such as STUNS, Uppsala Municipality, the Chamber of Commerce, and dual-use entrepreneurs.
