Purpose and goal
The project aims to develop solutions to reduce fossil fuels and carbon dioxide emissions in the cement industry. Swedish and Indian actors are developing and testing biochar as an alternative fuel together with digital monitoring and AI-based process optimization. Participation in the ITP workshop aims for project exchange, technical dialogue, exchange of experiences and new industrial contacts. Green Bridge is presented to relevant actors in industrial transition.
Expected effects and result
The project is expected to contribute to reduced CO₂ emissions and lower use of fossil fuels in the cement industry through the use of biocoal and digital process optimisation. The results will increase knowledge of the technology’s performance, enable industrial demonstration, and strengthen the potential for a cost-effective and sustainable transition. The project is also expected to strengthen cooperation between Swedish and Indian actors and create opportunities for future commercial use.
Planned approach and implementation
Two representatives from MG Sustainable Engineering AB will participate in ITP workshops and project meetings in New Delhi on 5–8 October 2026. The trip will include experience exchange, technical discussions, project presentations and meetings with industrial and institutional actors. We will then visit Chennai on 9–11 October for technical dialogue, project planning and follow-up with GreenBridge partner Denvik Technology.
