Important results from the project

The goal was to submit a competitive EU application with a strong consortium of partners. Through this project we had the capacity and resources to identify and establish relationships with Europe´s leading innovators and together with public sector representatives from Sweden, Spain & Ukraine co-create the BRAVE Futures project. We secured an experienced EU coordinator and onboarded 4 NEB award winners into the consortium with whom we are already planning other future collaborations.

Expected long term effects

BRAVE Futures aims to transform traditional top-down planning processes into a dynamic societal transformation method that cultivates trust & social cohesion between communities, public authorities & construction ecosystems.Through an innovative governance model communities in Spain, Sweden & Ukraine, positioned as “pockets of the future” re-imagine, re-design & re-build their neighbourhoods via blended reality vehicles to co-design & co-construct inclusive, beautiful & sustainable public spaces.

Approach and implementation

MAD was the project initiator - we identified the funding opportunity, developed the BRAVE Futures concept, scouted and onboarded a powerhouse project constellation which included a heavily experienced EU project coordinator, 4 New European Bauhaus prize winners and 3 strategically selected sites across Europe with EU project experience. We visited project partners and had online calls to align each partner´s strategic goals and contracted a grant writer to align with the call criteria.
