Project duration September 2016 - October 2016
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The objective of the trip was to participate at a joint review meeting for the DBT-VINNOVA funded projects within the Indo-Swedish Innovation Call: Health (2013), with the aim of exchanging experiences and gaining deeper insight and knowledge between the projects. In collaboration with our Indian partner, IIT-M, we presented the project ´Health in Hand - Transforming healthcare provision with innovative mobile technologies for better health and disease prevention´ at the meeting. It was a very interesting and worthwhile workshop for us.

Expected results and effects

We are currently collaborating around publishing our experiences and results from the project. The trip and the workshop provided us with additional space and opportunity to discuss internally and with our Indian partner how we can coordinate our work to make the most of our joint publications from the project, which will end in March 2017. Since our project is interdisciplinary, including expertise from both Health Sciences and Technology, such opportunities for in-depth interdisciplinary dialogues during several days in a row are extra valuable for us.

Planned approach and implementation

The trip went well, although there were on-going demonstrations in Bengalurue while we were there, due to issues about water resources with the neighbor state Tamil Nadu. The workshop was very worth-while for us. (The trip itself involved traveling by car from Ronneby to Malmö, taking the train to Kastrup, flying via Dubai to Bengaluru, arriving on September 12th. 3 hotel nights in Bengaluru, attending the DBT workshop September 13th to 14th, flight back to Kastrup via Dubai September 15th, train ride from Kastup to Malmö and car ride from Malmö to Ronneby. Analysis: the trip went well.)
