Important results from the project
Visual Impact aimed to strengthen the ability of Swedish incubators to support startups in setting goals, measuring and visualizing their impact. The project met its goals by developing a practical methodology and a guide for business developers working with companies with Impact potential to support them in their work to identify, secure and visualize social benefit. It also created new collaborations and important synergies that are expected to live on in a community of business supporters.
Expected long term effects
The project is expected to have a long-term impact by integrating impact and sustainability into business development in incubators. The methodology strengthens the innovation support system´s ability and knowledge to support startups with social benefit and increases their attractiveness to investors. The results live on through a growing network of users and actors who can together manage, apply and further develop the content over time in new contexts.
Approach and implementation
The project was run iteratively with testing and development in close collaboration with startups and other actors. The activities were relevant, but more focus than planned was placed on developing methodology for business developers. The project was extended by three months to allow for overlap with the Innovation Commons project, a new initiative that takes the results further. The collaboration worked well and was strengthened over time. The project largely followed the plan.
