Purpose and goal
Our aim was to define a work plan of our Tunnel emergency light for the electrical upgrades towards an integration into a robust and practical design, suitable for installation in tunnels. identify customer behaviour etc. We have accomplished al that, and found a number of upgrades that we need to do as well as some changes like battery changes. Also we found that based our research we had to take away one market out of requirements from regulatory institutions. Another insight were to sell solutions in meter rather than Emergency lights.
Expected results and effects
The result is an upgraded version of our smartunnel emergency light that actually is produceable as soon as we have the right size of battery. Also a businessplan how to proceed both in a technical way as well as a commercialization plan including sales concept that is solution selling, with price levels etc. We have also identified potential clients and changed our sales approach from fdistributors towards technical sales specialists direct. The outcome will help us also gaining financing for the next phase of pilot installations to get reference casas.
Planned approach and implementation
The project has consisted of three parts, partly a technical plan, partly a commercial plan and an economic one.The technical part was to test and upgrade together with experts. Our prototype and our described functionality,were modified during the course to become produceable. Commercially, we have also engaged external consultants, but of course we have done a lot of ourselves, We have visited prospective customers in Europe to get their wishes and problems descriptions, studied statistics, and obtained competitor info etc., which has become the basis for our business plan.
