Important results from the project
The project fulfilled its objective and resulted in four practical scenarios for regenerative neighborhoods, a cross-sectoral toolkit and a physical installation in Malmö. The results were disseminated through publications, events and exhibitions. The work has led to new collaborations and project applications, with a focus on further developing tools and models for systemic change in urban development.
Expected long term effects
The project contributes to a systemic view of urban development, where work, life and city interact to promote human and planetary regeneration. It highlights practical ways and how different actor can work towards the same goal of regenerative futures. It fights the feeling of powerlessness to make a difference. In the long term, the developed tools and scenarios can support the development of inclusive, cross-sectoral collaborations and concrete transformation projects in urban districts.
Approach and implementation
The project was implemented in four phases, each phase building on the previous one. The work was driven jointly by the project group with clear areas of responsibility. DML was responsible for research, compilation of results and exploration of system-changing tools. Media Evolution led the workshops and collaboration with artists. The City of Malmö contributed continuously and anchored the work in the city´s ongoing processes. The project stayed on schedule.
