Purpose and goal

Project focuses on deeply decarbonising urban areas by systemically re-imagining relationships between workspaces, homes and mobility between them. The aim is to form a landscape enabling people to live, work and move in healthy and regenerative ways, both for humans and the Planet. Ambition level is based on the IPCC report and other science-based sources. Key objective of this project is forming efficient ecosystems of actors to fast-track from envisioning to implementing solutions.

Expected effects and result

Project is located in an innovation district that the City of Malmo is about to redevelop as the first cornerstone in its transition towards a sustainable future. By anchoring the project in this specific location local stakeholders, we ensure that our insights and solutions are actionable. Project will raise awareness of how current lifestyles impact both human and planetary health and provide actionable pathways and instruments that can be replicated and scaled in other urban settings.

Planned approach and implementation

Coordinated by Dark Matter Labs, Media Evolution and Malmö Stad, the project will involve actors from across the system in jointly imagining and defining tools to implement these profound changes. The phases of the project are: 1. Setting the scene: research and defining the objective 2. Collectively imagine desirable futures with different stakeholders 3. Showcase future scenarios in the innovation district in Malmö 4. Identify practical ways to implement the envisioned solutions
