Purpose and goal
The Connector is a collaboration between Vinnova, Business Sweden and the Swedish Embassy in Israel. It is an innovation platform which connects Swedish and Israeli industry, academia and public organizations via matchmaking conferences and field visits. Focus areas/verticals are: 1) Tech in Health 2) Foodtech 3) Smart, sustainable Industry (industry 4.0). For 2024-25, The Connector may focus on the three mentioned verticals above. There should however be openness to try out new verticals in case the Swedish industry would be interested in it.
Expected effects and result
General outcomes are: Deepened collaboration between the Swedish and Israeli innovation ecosystems Enhanced image of Sweden, as an innovative country and strong partner, in Israel Creation of innovation projects New connections between participants Enhanced picture among Israeli participants of the innovation opportunities in Sweden and vice versa Strengthened network for Team Sweden in Israel The specific outcomes for respective activity will be discussed and agreed upon the planning of each activity.
Planned approach and implementation
usiness Sweden and Sweden´s Counsellor for Innovation Affairs, Joanna Boquist, will lead and coordinate the Connector project. The Business Sweden project leader will coordinate the operational work and report continuously to the Counsellor for Innovation Affairs and the embassy in Tel Aviv. During 2023, The Connector will focus on selected industries: Health (September 2023), foodtech (November 2023) and Industry 4.0 (November 2023 ).
