Important results from the project

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The goal was to specify and anchor a concept for a test bed with a focus on large-scale, land-based, sustainable and circular aquaculture. A concept with requirements specification of the four main parts large-scale RAS production facility, small- and medium-scale aquaculture, flexible zone and biorefinery has been developed. In addition, proposals for organization, mode of operation, location, funding, development plan etc. have been presented and the partnership has been expanded for continued work prior to investment.

Expected long term effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project has laid a foundation to be able to take the next step towards an established world-leading test bed for sustainable, circular large-scale land-based aquaculture. A constellation of actors has taken it upon themselves to contribute through the development plan to ensuring an agile transition for the project result, from theory to practice in the next step. The testbed has the ambition that the industry, nationally and internationally, should be able to take the next step towards sustainable and competitive land-based aquaculture.

Approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project was carried out by largely working in parallel with the development of the concept and technical description, business plan and operating model as well as organization and funding. Throughout, the project has sought input and created commitment from additional actors through dialogues, meetings and conferences as well as through benchmarking against other testbeds. Letters of support from actors have also been collected for the project to continue as an initiative even after the project.
