Purpose and goal

The initial purpose and objective of the preparation project was to create decision basis for implementation projects of the development of an open, coherent technical platform where actors test new technologies for remote diagnostics. The analysis of the world shows that the need for test beds for technical platforms is less than the need to test and develop collaborative care processes for healthcare principals. Therefore, an idea for the development of test beds for process development will instead be developed.

Expected results and effects

The decision basis has been prepared for the project´s steering group according to plan. The outcome was not to start the establishment of a technical test bed, which was expected initially, but instead good ideas have been identified and collaboration between primary care, specialist care and the municipality has been started.

Planned approach and implementation

An external analysis has been carried out where, among other things, mapping of the market for distance diagnostics was included through hearings, interviews and surveys. Cooperation and visits to other regions have also been carried out. The preparation project has also gained valuable knowledge by participating in various conferences and workshops. As a result of this work and in order to be able to offer patient-centered care remotely, StSAB has come to the conclusion that there is a need to be able to develop collaborative care processes for the care providers.
