Status Completed

Purpose and goal

Two test sites for evaluation of the function of stormwater facilities have been constructed at HSB Living Lab in Gothenburg. The project has put great emphasis on demonstrating, measuring, collaboration and educating the industry in how stormwater can be delayed locally in a socio-economically favorable way. How to operate and maintain the function of the facilities has also been studied in the project and both films and reports have been published on the topic. The project has also developed a standardization process for how to test and evaluate prefabricated stormwater facilities.

Expected results and effects

The test site will continue to offer the opportunity for technology suppliers to test and evaluate their technologies. There are also plans for another test bed. Collected results are available for use by the industry and are already included in several studies. A standard testing procedure for evaluation of stormwater facilities has been developed and will probably form the basis for a new national standard (SNS). A new SNS can significantly simplify and create security when procuring the technology, something that the industry has demanded.

Planned approach and implementation

The project was carried out in close collaboration between need owners, technology suppliers and academia. Most workshops, seminars and study visits have been arranged to educate and disseminate information on sustainable stormwater management. Through the placement of the test site at HSB Living Lab, the opportunity has been given for a large media spread of the project, something that has been very favorable for the project´s purpose. Studies have also been carried out on about 30 different facilities around the country for knowledge acquisition and dissemination to the industry.
