Important results from the project

The purpose of the project was to create contacts with international innovative small businesses that complement established competence networks around three production-related testbeds/centers in additive manufacturing and forming of lightweight products. The goal was the establishment of international innovative small businesses in the relevant regions. Contacts have been made and cooperation initiated, but no company has yet established itself in Sweden.

Expected long term effects

The project has contributed to new collaborations with companies in primarily Germany and France as well as to learning about the benefits of Business Swedens experts placed in the respective countries where the need for expanded collaboration exists.

Approach and implementation

Together with the regions reports were assembled on which competencies and types of companies were lacking in the region, as well as other central organizations to serve the impact goals The reports from the regions were supplemented with the testbeds´ suggestions for desired cooperation partners, and were shared with Business Sweden in France and Germany, as a basis for the first effort to reach relevant contacts in these countries. The meetings have lead to further collaboration in some cases, however small international startups are difficult to support.
