Important results from the project
Svallvåg´s aim and objective was to create a national research and innovation agenda for the Swedish maritime cluster. Svallvåg has reached this objective and obtained broad support among the participating organizations.
Expected long term effects
Results: Svallvåg has shown the importance of creating a strategic innovation are for the maritime sector. Outcome: Participants in the Svallvåg process, together with other interested parties, will write an application for a maritime strategic innovation area during the fall of 2013, with a basis from Svallvåg and other ongoing projects.
Approach and implementation
Svallvåg has been discussed in an open process with a broad approbal in the Swedish maritime cluster. Large focus has been needed to create a common view around the direction and scope of the agenda, hence resulting in the prolonging of the project. Finally, the process has led to an increased national consensus which has opened up for new opportunities and projects between the actors in Svallvåg, which in turn strengthens the Swedish maritime cluster.
