Purpose and goal

The conference created national attention and debate, and provided the participants with knowledge sharing and discussion of how Swedish innovation-based business development can be stimulated and made more effective. The knowledge sharing and the discussions also focused of how the interaction between the regional and national level in the innovation support system can be developed.

Results and expected effects

Interest in participating at the conference became a record high and the project gathered a broad representation of actors in the Swedish innovation system. Among the participants were incubators and science parks, as well as nationally and regionally leading politicians, policy makers, industry representatives and knowledge based startups.

Approach and implementation

The structure and implementation of the conference opened up for dialogue between actors in the Swedish innovation system, as well as sharing of inspiration, information and best practice. The mixed program, with both presentations on stage in front of the entire audience combined with parallel workshops, were appreciated by the participants. Our analysis of the conference gave a framework for the format, the framing of the questions and the focus for the 2015 years conference. The analysis clearly shows that the Swedish Innovation Summit plays an important role.
