Important results from the project
Yes, all objectives were reached or exceeded. A successful experiment was carried out with a multi-actor needs assessment where we gathered several public entities from Swedish and Nordic public entities and focused on the needs within a common Nordic challenge. In this case, how we can use digitalisation and medtech to create the conditions for better care and for elderly to be able to stay at home longer with a high quality of life.
Expected long term effects
We have tested different types of experience exchanges and startup matchmaking, which has led to an increased ability for the public sector to work on conducting market dialogue with innovative startups and scaleups, as well as to share experiences, methods and best practices of pre-commercial procurement between public organizations in Sweden, Finland and Iceland. The expected long-term effect is better public purchasers of innovative solutions for more digital and sustainable operations.
Approach and implementation
Thanks to Ignite´s established process for the public sector, we quickly got started on getting actors to participate and then contribute their experiences to Finland and Iceland. Without a well-established structure, engagement from the target group is difficult. The activities were appreciated and the participants want to continue exploring common demand, experience sharing including dialogue on internal organization for testing and scaling - a long-term cross-functional effort.
