Important results from the project
SDDF´s aim is to form a powerful research environment permeated by close interaction and collaboration between academic researchers and industrial researchers to contribute to the preservation of innovative and high-class research and development environments in Sweden in the field of drug delivery. In this environment, qualified research is conducted and young researchers are trained to give them the best conditions for a continued career. SDDF contributes to the formation of a Scandinavian ecosystem. An overall assessment is that the goal fulfillment for SDDF is good.
Expected long term effects
SDDF has enabled a significantly increased research volume and a new research profile and needs-motivated research projects that will result in about 40 original research articles have been implemented. Young researchers have been educated and trained and collaboration between industry and academia has been deepened and broadened at several levels. Structured cooperation with other networks has been established, which forms the basis for a sustainable Scandinavian ecosystem. SDDF has worked for increased visibility and improved understanding of the drug delivery area.
Approach and implementation
SDDF was organized to create the conditions for systematic interaction between academia and industry in order to obtain a high efficiency of the financial resources and to ensure relevance and quality in the business. SDDF´s aim was to develop a series of activity programs in close dialogue between academia and industry with objective, strategies and measures as a basis for annual business planning and resource allocation. The most comprehensive and business-leading program was the scientific program, which was built around three prioritized technology platforms.
