Important results from the project
The project´s goal was to facilitate for research infrastructures to open up for external use. Overall, the project have achieved its main objectives. A central result is the handbook and its appendices to be used as support for universities and research institutes in the work of making research infrastructure accessible. The project has resulted in recommendations to be used as support for the implementation. An equally important result is the continuous dialogue between the project parties.
Expected long term effects
A long-term goal is to continue och develope the dialogue between HEIs, research institutes and other actors in relation to resarch infrastructures and its asseccebility. Primarily, this should take place in existing networks and structures. The project is a good basis for introducing processec that lead to increased accessebility of research infrastructures but the the real implementation and long term effects will take place primarely at an organisational level.
Approach and implementation
SESAM is a collaborative project involving UU, LU, SU, and RISE. Within the project, a mapping was conducted to systematically identify needs, challanges, and opportunities related to the accessibility of research infrastructures. This mapping formed the base for the project’s content, design, and working methods. An additional ten HEI, as well as a reference group, have been involved with the project, contributing both to the implementation of the work packages and to the the handbook.
