Reference number
Coordinator SIK - Institutet för Livsmedel och Bioteknik AB - SIK Göteborg
Funding from Vinnova SEK 290 000
Project duration December 2012 - May 2013
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The aim of the project was to develop the project idea and to include complementary competences and companies in the group. The main idea has been developed into two main reserach questions, highly relevant for sustainable protein supply. The focus will be on products from ruminants (beef, dairy), but products originating from monogastric animals and vegetable sources will be included in the case study, where the methods developed will be applied. One addition scientific partner have been include, and two-five companies/organisations (some have not made thier final decision yet).

Results and expected effects

Knowledge and understanding of the complex reserach challenges have been created withion the original project group as well as among new partners. Most likely an application for a full project will be submitted to the call within ´TvärLivs´ 11 June.

Approach and implementation

Initially internal project meetings were arranged to identify relevant scientific competences needed to fulfil the overarching aims of the full project (i.e. the one applied for 11 June). The project idea was further developed by making it more concrete and decide on relevant limitations of the scope and possible generalistaions of results. The issue of useability of the results were also developed, in close collaboration with participating comapnies.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
