Important results from the project

The project´s objective has been to start the AI/ML journey of Centra Technology AB by building competence within AI/ML within the company´s organization. The project has also had the objective of implementing a concrete project with a successful outcome in order to be able to further develop and offer a commercial product recommendation engine for e-retailers.

Expected long term effects

The result of the project is a working prototype for sustainable product recommendations developed based on Collaborative Filtering by implicit feedback, from Centra Technology AB´s´s existing cloud service. Further development of this recommendation engine could result in a commercial offer for e-retailers to minimize the high return rate that many are forced to deal with today.

Approach and implementation

Pre study: which AI/ML method the project would be based on was decided. The technology to be used to implement the method was evaluated and the technical architecture for the implementation of the method was determined. Implementation & pilot project: datasets were extracted and processed from a client and the recommendation engine was trained and implemented in an existing e-commerce environment where the function was evaluated. Evaluation: the knowledge gained in the organization, methods used and the result is a good basis for continued technical and commercial development.
