Important results from the project

This project aimed to consolidate and further develop collaboration between the research community, pharmaceutical companies, technology providers, and high-tech start-ups to accelerate the pace of sustainable development in the pharmaceutical industry. The project achieved the goal through identifying the relevant actors, analysing the needs through interviews and discussions, engaging industrial actors and forming the Swedish consortium for national and international collaboration.

Expected long term effects

The project´s effects are evident in the PHARMECO EU project, the Swedish consortium initiative proposal and continuation plan, and the preliminary steps for dissemination pilot for Swedish and the European consortia collaboration. These are expected to greatly contribute to innovative and sustainable solutions in life science, pharmaceuticals and manufacturing to accelerate the development pace by follow-up projects, collaborations and knowledge transfer, nationally and internationally.

Approach and implementation

The initial project plan with three work packages to form the national consortium, EU and international collaboration, and knowledge transfer served as a general direction for the project activities and was modified when needed during the implementation phase. Some inevitable delays, mainly influenced by the EU and international collaborations, required adjustments to the project time plan. However, the project delivery was not influenced owing to the diligent contribution of the project team.
