Purpose and goal
The aim of the project is to create protection against insects, mould and fire over long time with a tailor-made, environmentally-friendly impregnation of wood. The impregnation should protect the wood from the attack by insects, microorganisms and fires. The goal is to reach the next highest classification (class A according to NTR) without using traditional toxic preservatives.
Expected results and effects
Increased use of wood in buildings is a part of the development towards a sustainable society in a circular economy. We need partly build in a constructive way and partly take environmental advantage by building with biobased material.
Planned approach and implementation
The work which will be carried out during the period from November 2018 to May 2019 consists of formulation of preservative solution, impregnation, characterization and project management, as well as cost, IPR and market analysis.
