Purpose and goal
The aim of the project is: 1. Finalise submission of the EIT RawMaterials KAVA 6 proposal BATTERFLAI. 2. Continue the work from LIGNOFLOT to further strengthen the proposal and bring it to TRL 5 when it starts.
Expected results and effects
As a result of the current project, the EIT RawMaterials KAVA 6 proposal BATTERFLAI proposal was successfully submitted and granted. Moreover, it was demonstrated that the size of the novel lignin collector can be controlled for both spruce and birch lignin, delivering different sizes of lignin nano- anc micro- particles to be tested as collectors. This will significantly affect our work within the EIT RawMaterials project.
Planned approach and implementation
The project was led by Prof. Paul Christakopoulos from Luleå University of Technology. The project included the biochemical process engineering group of LTU that conducted the experimental work for the production of lignin nanoparticles and coordinated the preparation of EIT RawMaterials KAVA 6 proposal, and LTU Business that participated in the preparation of the EIT RawMaterials KAVA 6 proposal.
